Welcome to Bushwick release party at Northeast Kingdom

Hot damn. It's been a few days since Wednesday. The release party was on Wednesday, and it was fucking fun. Initially, I think everyone was slightly nervous that we'd be making too much of a racket in the basement of the Kingdom. There's music down there, but it's always acoustic, to my knowledge. So we came in with a full on kit, and a host of amps, and blood in our mouths. You know, rock n' roll blood. Like lets burn our instruments and spit on eachother. Tattoos of naked girls screaming on speeding motorcycles. Skulls, flames, and bats heads on spikes.

I think all the people crowded down there soaked up the sound. And we found a choice volume to play at. Truthfully, playing in such a small place is awesome. I love how intimate the whole experience is. You feel like you can really look into people's eyes and connect. More so than when Pass Kontrol is rocking a crowd of like, 598,989,600 people, like we did on our last tour of China and Russia. I'd be up on stage, wailing on my guitar(standing on top of a motorcycle, tattoos looking like they were gonna jump off of my pulsating guns(I've been working out every day with two personal trainers)), and I'd feel slightly empty cause I couldn't fully connect with all those 598,989,600 people. Then I'd go back into our dressing room, hang out with Russian and Chinese models, munch on M&Ms and feel depressed.

aka...

small rooms are great to play in. I used to go to Small's when I first came to NYC. I loved the vibe in there.

Sue and Chris have really nice songs. And my hat goes off to Noel for rocking the bass like a motherfucker. Buffie was fantastic. I love it when she plays soul songs. She's been playing Smokey Robinson's "I Second That Emotion" recently. She highlights the melody so well. I go gaga for her rendition.

Mikey "Ghost Front" V was great. He starts playing and I feel this warmth slowly descend over the whole room. Mike is a true, true artist. He's spontaneous in his performance, and releases everything that's pent up inside of him. Not to mention that he can sing and play guitar like nobody's business. I always feel good when I listen to him play.

And lastly, four grimy douchebags took the stage. I heard they were called Pass Kontrol.

Playing down there was wreckingballrad. I'm always standing when we play, and this time, I could sit. The change of pace was great. When we first started I was buzzed from twopointfive beers, my fingers felt like they were wood-sausages, and my guitar sat awkwardly on my lap. But slowly things smoothed out, and I lost myself. Some of the best shows seem to be when everything passes by in a blur, and you only have small glimmers of memories. The experience is almost trance like.

We've re-arranged "Sleazy Grind", and for the time being, I think the new arrangement is much better. I like playing the same song in different ways. Fuck definitive versions, right?

Afterwards, a bunch of us danced and danced and danced. I think we left at 3am.
