recording on Grand Street

We recorded last weekend. It was pouring rain outside, and we were in K's studio on Grand Street, which is a fucking awesome place. Recording yourself is good. You start learning the ins and outs of what it takes. Having someone else who's cool record you, is infinitely better, in my opinion. I don't want to have to worry about placing the mics and twiddling the knobs. I want all the band's energy going into playing.

The whole day felt so joyous and free. It was simply a bunch of friends getting together, no pressure, and having a blast. Fast decisions, putting things aside when they didn't work, and playing great music in a comfortable space.

Everything was mixed as quickly as it was played and recorded. We've got 5 songs down, and I think they're definitely the best things we've ever recorded together as a band.

Next thing to do is put the New Hope City album together with all the other songs we have in the works for the play in February.
