This is something that DB found in Berlin and sent our way.
The show at the Bushwick Starr was crazy, but also really fun. They always are.
Trying to take a breath and moment of pause, but it's not making itself available.
We're playing at Max's place (Blue Wolf Studios) on Saturday.

clothes. it's ideal to feel comfortable and look good.
could have soldiered on farther this afternoon. After rehearsal last nite, which felt like going to a gym (i.e. endurance is huge and wonderful), running through the set, running new stuff, healthy and productive; we went, AB and I went flyering with 2/5 of Lady Magma and 3/3 of Buff, and threw up lots and lots of fliers from Montrose to Morgan, swung by TAndem, talked to a couple of legendary, neighborhood dudes(one was wearing tight red jeans), and threw more fliers up. Swung by Dangerous T.D.'s super-dope-studio, busted out some quick mixes on the upcoming Tokyo EP(for sale at the show and sounds awesome!!!). Stopped at the New York Loft Hostel, and left fliers and a poster there. Very, very much hoping that international people will come to the show. Or people from Kansas. Or any state. I'm thinking travelers, is what I'm thinking. I would like travelers to come, and get a slice of Bushwick Pie.
Cause, hey, I'd love to be in some foreign city and stumble upon a random show, in a rad, little, theater, listen to fun music and dance, meet locals and dance, drink beer and dance. Are you kidding? See the fly babes doing their thing. Talking and laughing and moving. The hip dudes out on the roof, cracking jokes, thinking about putting the moves on someone special, later that night.
Hell yeah! If I was traveling, I would be triple-fucking-pumped to stumble upon this kind of thing. Damn!
time warp to the beginning of the first paragraph////////
could have soldiered on farther this afternoon, printed more fliers, gottn' back on my bike, rode in the rain to some stores in DillbertsBurg, dropped off fliers to people, been cold, and tired and annoyed. This would have been the dutiful thing to do.
But I've put my hustle in. Now, no matter what happens, it happens. Have faith in the beautiful people around you, the people you have chosen to be around. And let the wonders work themselves out.
So I stayed at home listened, listened to the "Keep It Movin' 2/1/07" mix that AB made for me, and seriously rocks, and was part soundtrack to Paris and Milano in, as DB would say "Early Spring of '07". By the way, a framed photo of DB will be present at the show on Saturday, because he's the throughline in all of it.
Thinking, writing, listening to music, while the rain pours and pours and pours.

saturdays

last saturday's show was very special. there was a great vibe in the air, and lots of good folks came out. it's always a trip to play New HOpe City. I don't know why, because we spend most of our time in the Outskirts. Unearthing old technology, and using it. Cleaning it, oiling it, and making something of worth, something ephemeral, all rolled into one. You can't pocket a song. It moves and moves and once those notes were played, they've been played. All that remains is the memory.
with all this being said, I'm WAY PSYCHED for this coming show at the Bushwick Starr. Bring your friend. The one that likes to dance alot. the one that really gets down. lets sweat and feel hot, cause it's summer. sweat is sexy. i want the summer girls. the fly dudes.
i love shows at the Bushwick Starr. There is such a personal vibe to them. Nothing better than that. this is a wonderful community we've all created, brimming with good-hearted people doing fun, creative things.

yesterday
We had a studio in an old, red, industrial building. It was relatively close to Templehof Airport. The building was haunted, and we had to make peace with the spirits to play there. And they had to make peace with us.
We spent alot of time there, reflecting on American music. Thinking about Neu! and David Bowie. Johnny Cash roaming around the streets. We worked at Ohio, P! made the best quiche I'll ever eat in my life, and J built a future empire upon a pirated computer.
Good friends visited us from Brooklyn. We played music for them, they played music for us, we drank cheap beer out of plastic bottles, and sang on the subway. We rode the tram deep into the East, which has always been one of my favorite things to do.
We made new friends, good friends. We played shows at Ohio. The first one with Spencer and Jesse doing a DB directed play of "The Dumbwaiter". We played afterwards. It was minimal, and it was fierce.
I want to get back at some point. Full band, sound blazing. I want to tour all of Europe. I want to play in Paris. How do we make this happen?

In New Hope City you update your status through a zipadio. a small, handheld device that records for 10 seconds. you record your status update, and then press the red button to send it to Mainframe Tower, where it is processed, and transmitted to LazerScriptRolls all over the city.
this is a ghostwave transmission. can you hear me? this is a ghostwave transmission. does anyone copy?

girls with wolves? rynnin' et smylin'? what has nature coe tu? If anything, i enjoi.
Summer is in full swing, despite the cooler than to be expected weather in July. I think we've officially moved out of June's monsoon season. Boy, that was a weird time, non? Rain three or four times a day, heavily, heavily soaking us. The rhythm of these days was strange.
We have a new song. It's called "Boyfriends". For whatever reason, this makes us all crack up. There's no words to the song yet, just melodies, and gibberish singing. But it's a cool song. It was one of those that wrote itself very quickly.
Oh yeah, and July shows coming up. One at Lit(Sat, July 18), and one at the Bushwick Starr(Sat, July 25). Gotta get the word out for these. I'm not always sure how to get this done. Fliers, e-mails(which are just winding up in people's spam box), facespace, mybook. Friendster! That's how! Put it up on Friendster! Let all our friends on Friendster know!
Social networking, computer time, interfacing with a screeeeeeen, images of your friends from angular angles, jaw lines, having fun or looking glamorous, with Martinis and whatnot. I think it's kind of like internet porn. It can be fun to look at, wang n' tang and humping (doesn't this just sound romantic and divine?), but ultimately not as awesome as being in the heart of the party, sweating, dancing, making real connections with cool people.

it all has me going crazy
the beatboxing alone is amazing. and then the tttrraaanslllation of sounds in his head to sounds on wax, plastic, stereo, boombox.
In my entire life, I have never experienced a death like this. hearing these sounds emanate from building windows, cars, headphones, on the lips of friends. the genius is sinking in.
again, we all shall pass someday. it's an easy given. you will die i will die we all will die. liberation.
